Our team help spread the word by having a sign that had our “Safety motto of the Day” on it. On our first day, the sign read, “Safety starts with me,” the second day, “Safety is the Key,” and our final motto was “If it can’t be done safely, it can’t be done at all.” Sean Estes is our safety captain and was the one responsible for our safe actions. Sean had the help of Hayden as Co-Captain.

2006 Awards - Milwaukee, Wisconsin
Judges Award-
In Milwaukee, Wisconsin team 1710 walked away with the Judge’s award. This award was given to use based on our business plan, pit design, integration of our two 21st Century programs (Aerospace and Engineering and Electronic Communications), organization, and for having a strictly student run team. Though it wasn’t going to take us to nationals it gave us the excitement of coming home with a little more pride.
Safety Award-
On day 2 of the Milwaukee Regional our Safety Capitan received the Safety Star of the day. This was achieved by the entire team’s effective safety skills. Through a lot of caution tape and safety signs we made sure everyone in the pit was being safe. This was also a contributing factor in our Judges Award win.
