Mentoring FIRST LEGO League-

One of the service opportunities that Ravonics team members enjoyed this year was mentoring FIRST Lego League teams. The team rallied over the Christmas break to assemble all 90 missions used in the local competition, assisting over 225 kids in 25 different schools. More than 790 man-hours hours were spent meticulously constructing each module per the exact engineering standards as dictated by FIRST.
Even though it was in the middle of our own intense build time, team members volunteered for the tournament by assisting the judges, mentoring younger students, timing the trials, queuing the teams during meets and providing encouragement to teams throughout the day. Team members were commended by the FIRST Regional Director for actively motivating and inspiring competitors.

Bell Ringing-

Bell ringing 2006-2007 One of our major goals this year has been to show our gratitude for our community’s support for the program through community service. One way we tried to accomplish this goal was by ringing bells for the Salvation Army during the holiday season. We put in a total of 945 man-hours just for bell ringing. It was a humbling experience for our team and gave us a unique chance to grow deeper relationships.
