February 28, 2007-
Mentoring at Blackbob Elementary for FIRST Lego League after school on Wednesday.

February 23th –
The Bowl-A-Thon fundraiser is Sunday February 25th from 12-2:00 at Olathe Lanes West. Make sure that you bring your sheets.

February 22, 2007 –
The Chairman’s Award Submission was successfully submitted along with the web-site.

February 19, 2007 –
The robot has shipped! Team meetings has been changed to just Tuesday from 3:00 to 5:00pm and Thursday’s from 6:30 to 8:30pm.

February 17, 2007 –
The showcase was a great success! Thanks to the parents who provided the food and drinks. We had a chance to show our parents, mentors and sponsors all of our hard work. Awards and thanks were given to mentors and we had a show complete with music and lights to show off our robot. Thanks to Paul Borchardt, the KC Assistant Regional FIRST Director who attended our showcase.

February 16, 2007 –
Saturday is the Parent Showcase at 12:00pm in the Flex theatre. Parents, sponsors, mentors and administration officials are invited to come. This is our chance to shine so let’s work hard to get it all put together!

February 15th-
The second Mr. Goodcents fundraiser was held tonight and was a great success. Thanks to all those who came out to support us!

February 8
The team is working hard on their strategy and robot. Only four weeks remain in build time and the team has a lot of work ahead of them. Stay tuned for their progress. Remember to hand out your flyers for the fundraiser.

January 22th-
Thanks to the team members who were able to support the FIRST Lego League Tournament on January 20th. Their support, inspiriation and dedication to the FLL was appreciated and commented on by the Regional FLL director. Way to go Team #1710!

January 20th-
The Mr. Goodcents fundraiser was a success even though there was a horrible ice storm that day and school was cancelled. We have 2 more dates scheduled, one on February 15th and again on March 8th.

January 15th-
We are making progress on the robot, the animation and the other supporting documentation. Thanks to the sponsors who are giving up their time to help us. We also appreciate all of the food that the parents have provided!

Don’t’ forget about the Mr. Goodcents fundraiser on January 20th from 4:00pm to 8:00pm.

January 8th-
The kick-off event was great! Thanks to all of the parents who provided food. We found out what the game for this year will be. We are excited to finally get started building the robot!

January 6th, 2007 –
Saturday, January 6th will be our big kick-off. Please join us at noon in the Flex Theater (Please use the Events Entrance) to eat and learn more about our competition. Parents will be contacted at a later date about providing food. At this kick-off we will be receiving our kit of parts needed to build the robot and our task for competition this year. We will also discuss, in detail, our trip to Chicago.

December 19-
We have sign-ups available for the FIRST Lego League challenge. We need to build over 90 missions so we need as much help as possible. See Miriah or Sam for the details.

December 10th-
FIRST Workshop- Our focus will be professionalism, enthusiasm and our dedication to science, engineering and robotics. We welcome the opportunity to share our enthusiasm for FIRST Robotics and engineering with the Olathe community.

December 6 –
The results are in and the Ravonics did a fantastic job on their greenery fundraiser. The team earned an impressive $1,250, with Hayden Maples taking the top prize of $432.00 in orders. Josh Jensby sold the first ten orders and Jerad Bickford had the most individual sales. This fund raiser was the kick-off towards this year’s lofty goal of $38,000. The fund raising committee is hard at work brain storming future opportunities. Please help support the Ravonics Revolution in their quest for lots more “greenery”!

December – 8th-
Thursday December 14th we have no meeting due to finals the following Friday.

December 1st-
Thank you to all of the parents for the Thanksgiving Feast, at our meeting on 11/20/06!!!! Don’t forget your bell-ringing assignments!

November 22st-
Greenery is scheduled to arrive around November 22st. Mrs. Rippe will let us know when it is in and when you should come and pick your order up.

November 20th –
For community service we are bell ringing for Salvation Army every Saturday until Christmas. Sign-up dates will be emailed out. We have committed for a lot of time so please look at your calendars and sign up for multiple dates!

November 16th-
VEX Challenge- As a way to get prepared for build-time, the robotics team was split into three groups based on their experience with building robots. Each team was given a box of supplies for the task. The objective was to build a working vex robot that would collect the most ping pong balls in an enclosed area.

Congratulations to the rookie team for their win. As you can see we have a strong team this year!

November 6th-
Meeting dates and times for November - Monday’s and Thursday’s from 7:00 to 8:30pm Location will be announced

November 1st –
Don’t forget the Aerospace and Engineering Open House on November 6th. We will have a FIRST Robotics booth with the brochures and other documentation. We are handing out wrist bands, buttons, and safety tags as well as running the Robot. Our focus for the Open House will be professionalism, enthusiasm and our dedication to science, engineering and robotics. We welcome the opportunity to share our enthusiasm for FIRST Robotics and engineering with the Olathe community.

October 20, 2006
The initial Robotics fundraiser for 2007 will be selling greenery. There is a variety of items that you can purchase from garlands to wreaths and swags. They vary in price from $15.00 to $50.00. Every home should have something fresh and green for the Holidays! The wreath will be sent via FedEx or UPS and will be delivered between November 27th and December 7th.
