Build season has begun!
By: Spencer Z.-Newsletter
Date: 01/17/2011

Ravonics Revolution has started its build season. This is our 6th season in the robotics competition. This new year has brought on a new and very difficult challenge. This challenge will take much skill and great robot drivers. Our challenge is to build a robot that can pick up inner tubes in the symbol of FIRST. We have done a challenge similar to this in earlier years but this challenge is different because at the end of the challenge we have to deploy a mini robot off our main robot that can climb by its self. We are all eager to begin this build season.

Robotics is up and churning with all groups in full gear. Website has begun designing the website with a new web domain that will be released later on. Animation has received their Safety Animation for the year and are working on brainstorming. Graphic design is drawing up the website and doing other miscellaneous graphics. Video is working on putting together a parent video for the parent meeting on October 28th. Mechanical has split themselves up into two groups, one doing Swerve Drive and the other working on the Army Robot. Working close with CAD on the process, CAD is learning inventor and working on applying their new found skills. Electrical has been working on the speaker box hoping to get it up and running for Cowtown Throwdown. Programming on the other hand has gone into full learning mode. The financial groups have begun work on a new business plan and making us the money we need to head off to competition. Awards has also hit the ground running working on understanding the ideals of FIRST and creating the perfect Chairman's essay. Newsletter and Website content have also been writing away. Overall, Team 1710 has started on the right foot and is on the track for a perfect build season.
